Barsie's History
A year before the beginning of the great depression in 1929, Andy Barselotti moved his small store from the corner of Amity and North Pleasant Streets to the Knights of Columbus building on North Pleasant Street. This new location was a few doors away from the store's original location that had burned down. He sold mainly fruit, candy and ice cream, but had set his sights on serving another kind of sweet- Alcohol.
